After a hiatus of six years, 2023 saw the resumption of the Summer Institute in Physics and Physical Science for in-service high school teachers. This four-week program, led by Associate Teaching Professor Donna Messina, features a semi-Socratic approach known as Physics by Inquiry and seeks to give teachers both improved understanding of physics and experience with inquiry-based instruction. A generous gift from the family of Lillian McDermott enabled the resumption of this summer workshop.
